What are Group Pages?
A group page is a dedicated page for a specific group. It gives that group a dedicated place for formal, group-specific information instead of relying only on chat tools or scattered files.
Group pages are like homepages, but just for the group, and can include:
- A banner image and icon.
- Text/media widgets for content and resources.
- An announcement feed for messages sent to that group.
Before you Start
Before you create a group page, make sure you already have a group to attach it to. Admins can enable pages for groups, and group owners can help manage page content once ownership has been delegated. For more information on groups, refer to the “Creating and Managing Groups” article.
Creating a Group Page
To create a group page in the group settings, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Awardco platform.
- On the homepage, select the “Admin” button at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
- From the left navigation menu, click “Users” then “Groups.”
- Select the group whose page you want to edit.
- In the group settings, enable “Page” if it is not already enabled.
- Select “View Group Page” in the Page settings.
- Select “Edit Page”
Editing the Group Page
Similar to the homepage editor, group owners can edit the page:
- Banner image
- Custom text/media widgets when the group needs new information or resources.
Review the “Company Announcements” article to learn how to post an announcement on a group page.
Adding the “My Pages” Widget on the Homepage
The “My Pages” widget appears in a dedicated homepage widget for maximum visibility. From the widget, employees can click to quickly access the pages for the groups they are a part of.
Setting up the “My Pages” widget:
- On the homepage, select the “Admin” button at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
- From the left navigation menu, click “Customize” then “Homepage Editor.”
- On the left-hand or right-hand side of the homepage editor, click “Add Content” and add “My Pages.”
- Add the “My Pages” widget to the mobile homepage layout as well, making sure it is visible and easy to access.
NOTE: It is recommended to move this widget closer to the top of your homepage. Ensure you preview the widget placement on the mobile homepage as well.
For more detailed instructions on customizing your layout, please refer to our Homepage Editor support article.
Group Owners Managing Page Content
Group pages are designed so super admins do not have to manage every update themselves. Group owners can edit the group page without needing super admin access. They can do this by going to the homepage > “My Pages” widget > selecting a group they are an owner of > and selecting “Edit Page.”
Implications and Things to Consider
As you plan your group pages, keep these points in mind:
- Group pages work best when each page has a clear purpose and stays focused on official, group-specific information.
- Pages depend on groups, so your group setup should be in place before you build page content. If you’d like to test the group page before others can see it, don’t add members to the group until the group page is set up.
- If you want local leaders or group organizers to maintain content, assign group owners before launch.
