Withdrawing a Pending Recognition

Withdraw a recognition you submitted before it is approved, so you can correct it without contacting Support.

Before You Begin

You can withdraw a recognition only when both of these conditions apply:

  • You submitted the recognition.
  • The recognition is still in Pending Approval status.

Withdrawal is permanent. After you confirm the withdrawal, you cannot restore or resubmit that recognition.

NOTE: If you do not see the Withdraw option, the feature may not be enabled for your organization or the recognition may no longer be eligible.

 

Withdrawing a Pending Recognition

Use these steps to remove your pending recognition from the approval queue:

  1. Sign in to your Awardco account.
  2. Open your pending recognitions. Select “Management” from the left navigation menu, then select “Approvals.”

  1. Select the “Submissions” tab.
  2. Find the recognition with a status of Pending, then select the three-dot menu.
  3. Select “Withdraw.”

  1. Review the confirmation message, then select Confirm.

The recognition is withdrawn, removed from the approver’s queue, and shown with a status of Withdrawn in the Recognition Status Report.

NOTE: Close the confirmation message without selecting Confirm if you want to keep the recognition pending.

 

What Happens After You Withdraw a Recognition?

  • The recognition is canceled and removed from the approval queue.
  • The recipient does not receive the recognition or points for the withdrawn recognition.
  • The withdrawn recognition remains represented in the Recognition Status Report with a status of Withdrawn.
  • The approver no longer sees the recognition in the approval queue.
  • Awardco does not send a separate cancellation notification to the approver.

 

FAQ

Can I withdraw a recognition after it is approved?

  • No. This feature works only for recognitions that are still in Pending Approval status.

Can I undo a withdrawal?

  • No. Withdrawal is permanent. If you change your mind, submit a new recognition.

Why do I not see the Withdraw option?

  • The option appears only for eligible pending recognitions and organizations where the feature is enabled. The recognition may no longer be pending, or your organization may not have access to the feature. Contact your Awardco administrator or Support for help.

Will the recipient still receive points if I withdraw the recognition?

  • No. Points are issued only after a recognition is approved. A withdrawn recognition does not reach approval.
